2026 Athlone Tennis Club Championships — Results
Congratulations to everyone who took part in this year's Athlone Tennis Club Championships, which ran from Monday 7th September through to Finals Day on Sunday 27th September 2026, with 51 players signed up across the five events. Three weeks of genuinely great tennis across every draw — here are the results.
The Road to Finals Day
The Men's Singles draw was headed by number one seed Robert Treston, followed by David Manser, Sean Raftery and Varun Hans, with the leading seeds progressing through the early rounds. There were several convincing performances along the way: Robert Treston defeated Marek Rose 6–0, 6–3, while Varun Hans overcame Martin O'Rourke 6–4, 6–3. George Bodor recorded an impressive victory over Andrés Leal, while César Leal defeated Zbigniew Mantaj 6–2, 6–4. The quarter-finals and semi-finals followed on 25th and 26th September, with the final on Finals Day.
On the Ladies' side, Rachel O'Regan was the number one seed and Sheelagh Beirne seeded number two. O'Regan made an impressive start to her campaign, defeating Arleta Wyrzykowska in the opening round before overcoming Sine Macfarlane in the quarter-final. In the other half of the draw, Kateryna Selve produced a strong opening-round performance, defeating Mary Mullin, before Sheelagh Beirne progressed with a closely contested win over Sandra Rohan, 7–5, 6–2. All five events — Men's Singles, Women's Singles, Men's Doubles, Women's Doubles and Mixed Doubles — came down to Finals Day on Sunday 27th September.
