Senior Spring Leagues

The Men's and Ladies' Spring Leagues continued this week with good wins for Arek Trebelski, Des Windsor McGlynn, and Harry O'Rourke in Group 1 and Sean Raftery and David Manser in Group 2. Michael Flynn was also victorious. Lisa Brennan got the Women's league underway with a straight sets win in her first match. All matches must be completed by 30th March with presentation of prizes that evening. As usual the Pyramids will be revised after the league on a two up, two down basis. All matches are best of three sets - The third set may be a 'match tie-break'. All results must be entered on the sheets posted in the clubhouse. No walkovers allowed.

Ladies Spring League Group 1: Paula Dowling, Lisa Brennan, Orla Kinahan, Melanie Whyte, Michele Culligan. Group 2: Ann O'Sullivan, Joan Conway, Rose Costello, Jacinta Digby, Sine McFarlane. Group 3: Anna Walsh, Roisin Casey, Mary Jo O'Farrell, Stephane Kenny, Mary O'Neill, Julie Costello

Men’s Spring Doubles Competition

This competition continued last Monday with a large number of men competing on all four courts. All pairings were evenly matched resulting in some very exicting contests featuring excellent tennis. When the points were tallied, joint winners on the night were Martin O'Rourke and Marek Rose and Richard Frank and Christy Tubah. Des Windsor-McGlynn and P.J. O'Reilly finished as runners-up. Play continues every Monday at 7.30 with points totalled week by week. 

Mixed Doubles Competition

This competition will be played every Sunday up to April 2nd. Play commences at 11am so all interested players should arrive five minutes earlier so the draws for partners can be arranged and play can begin on time. So far numbers have been low due to poor weather and members are encouraged to support this event in the coming weeks.

Junior Tennis

Coach Derek Stenson has commenced his tennis lessons for junior members for children aged from 4 to 17 years. The coaching is on Mondays, Tuesdays and Fridays commencing at 4pm. For details of these sessions you may contact him at 0851080013 or email rallyvolleysmash@gmail.com.

Club Nights

Club nights continue every Monday, Tuesday and Thursday starting at 7.30 with continuous competitions until 9.30. Men play every Monday with the ladies competing every Tuesday and with mixed doubles events every Thursday.
