Men’s Doubles Winter Competition

The men’s s winter doubles competition concluded last Monday. This league started on Monday 2nd January and was very successful thanks to the large number of men competing each week. Great credit is due to men’s captain Des Windsor Mc Glynn who was very much hands with his organisation skills.

The winners last Monday were the Arek Trebeski/Oisin Stronge combination, in second place were Kieran Mc Carthy and Denis Galvin while in third place were George Bodor and Pat Conway.

When all the scores for the past seven weeks were totted up the winner of this league was Kieran Mc Carthy on 22 points with George Bodor in second place on 21 points. Oisin Stronge and John Galvin were joint third on 18 points.

The men’s double spring league will commence next Monday and continue every week until Monday 10th of April.

Spring Leagues

The ladies and men’s singles spring leagues will be starting soon and closing date for registration is Thursday 16th February. Members may register by Viber or sign up on the official form in the clubhouse. This competition will run until the middle of April and then the ladies and men’s pyramids will be rearranged depending on the results.

Ladies Pyramid

Paula Dowling continues to hold top spot on the ladies pyramid. Orla Kinahan is second followed by Lisa Brennan. Melanie Whyte is fourth and Michele Culligan is fifth.

Men’s Pyramid

Tim Clarke tops the men’s pyramid with Des Windsor Mc Glynn in second place. George Bodor has reached number three followed by Harry O’ Rourke. Arek Trebeski successfully made a challenge last week and gains the number five slot.

 Junior Tennis

Coach Derek Stenson has commenced his tennis lessons for junior members for children aged from 4 to 17 years. The coaching is on Mondays, Tuesdays and Fridays commencing at 4pm. For details of these sessions you may contact him at 0851080013 or email rallyvolleysmash@gmail.com.

Club Nights

Club nights continue every Monday, Tuesday and Thursday starting at 7.30 with continuous competitions until 9.30. Men play every Monday with the ladies competing every Tuesday and with mixed doubles events every Thursday.
