News: End Of Year Reflection; My Way

End of Year Reflection: My Way

And now, years end is near;
And so I face the final days.
My friends, I'll say it clear
I'll state my case, of which I'm certain.

I've lived a year that's full.
I've played each and every one;
And more, much more than this,
I played it my way.
Losses, I've had a few;
But then again, too few to mention.
I played you all without exception,
And saw you through without contention.
I planned each charted match;
Each careful shot that I could hatch.
And more, much more than this,
I played it my way.
Yes, there were times, I'm sure you knew,
When I played more than I could subdue.
But through it all, when there was doubt,
I took a drink and gulped it down.
I faced you all and I stood tall;
And played it my way.
I've played, I've laughed and cried.
I've had my fill; my share of losing.
And now, as the days subside,
I find it all so amusing.
To think I played you all;
And may I say not in a wry way,
"Oh no, oh no, not me,
I played it my way".
For what is a man, what has he got?
If not himself, then he has naught.
To play the way he truly feels;
And not the words of one who keels.
The record shows I took the blows -
And played it my way!
Yes it was my way.

Merry Christmas.
