Junior Christmas Hamper Competition
The annual junior Christmas Hamper Competition took place at Athlone Tennis Club last Sunday. A fantastic turnout of 32 juniors, ranging in ages from 7 to 17, took part in this competition– everyone looked fantastic in their best Christmas outfits and playing some great tennis too! All competitors were rewarded for their efforts on a damp, grey day by going home with a selection box, and multiple candy canes. Everyone was a winner! The event was also thoroughly enjoyed by the parents who were present on the day. That concludes the Sunday afternoon supervised junior tennis for the year. It will recommence in the new year.
Club nights
Club nights continue on Monday (men’s night), Wednesday (ladies’ night) and Thursday (mixed doubles night). Play begins at 7.30 each night, so grab your racket and come on down to the club for a night of fun.
Coaching
Coaching continues for junior members on Saturdays from 10-2. Please contact coach Clem Higginbotham (086 402 2490) for information. The last Saturday coaching before Christmas will take place this Saturday so come along in your Christmas jumpers!!
