Junior Club Championships

The junior club championships, generously sponsored by Temple Printing, were played over the past week. Lisa Brennan organised and supervised all the competitions from under 10 to under 18. The results and photos will be available for next week.

Senior Singles Leagues

 Anna Walsh and Madhu Bhyrraju have won their initial league matches. The competitions will be run off by September 11th followed by the club championships.

Mondays: Men’s Summer Doubles League

 Sai Palada and Puneet Nayyer were the winning partnership and collecting four points each, in the men’s doubles league last Monday. Marek Rose and John O’ Connell were second gaining three points while Harry O’ Rourke and Declan Finn collected two points each. Duos Kieran Mc Carthy/Barry O’ Shea, John Bray/Atin Kohli and Ronan Mc Alary/Darragh Elliott collected the minimum.

US Open

 The ladies’ and men’s major tennis competitions have moved to North America and will culminate with the US Open starting 30th August. The ladies competed at the Montreal Masters 1000 last week, Camila Giorgi won her first major title overcoming Karolina Pliskova in the final. The Toronto Masters 1000 winner was Daniil Medvedev beating Reilly Opelka in the final. This week the ladies and men will compete in Cincinnati Master 1000 open.
