Men’s Summer Doubles League
The men’s summer doubles league continues every Monday, draw for partners is at 7.30 and all members are welcome to participate. The four point winners last week were Sai Palada and John O’ Connell. Dave Costello and Rob Kearney who were second placed, both accumulating three points. John Bray and Marek Rose collected two each while Kieran Mc Carthy and Declan Finn were also point winners.
Wednesday: Ladies Night
Ladies night for playing tennis was once again very successful, this year is witnessing the greatest number competing for many a year and is a most welcome sign. Anne Dooley, two Costellos, Julie and Rose, two Mc Graths, Marie and Natasha, Helen Claffey, Jacinta Digby, Lola Fernandez Palos, Evgenyia Yurchenko, Anna Walsh and Deborah Mc Keown competed. Ladies have exclusive use of the courts every Wednesday and all members are welcome to participate, teams will be organised at 7.30.
Thursday & Sunday: Mixed Doubles
Thursday’s mixed doubles was cancelled due to weather conditions but members enjoyed Sunday’s event in perfect conditions. Lola Fernandez Palos, Evgenyia Yurchenko, Rose and Julie Costello, Isaac Del Saz Palos, Marek Rose, Lisa Brennan and Dave Costello enjoyed the friendly competitive matches.

Coaching
Clem Higginbotham’s coaching sessions continue every Saturday at 10am for children 5 to 9 years old. At 11 he coaches children ages 10 to 12 and he coaches older children from 12 noon. Please contact Clem at 0864022490 to register for these sessions as numbers are limited.
Wimbledon
Pre Wimbledon grass court tournaments continued last week with Jelena Ostapenko and Alex de Minaur winning the ladies’ and men’s singles at Eastbourne. Angelique Kerber won the Bad Homburg open while Daniil Medvedev triumphed in Mallorca. All four will compete in London this week. Can Serena Williams and Novak Djokovic make history and equal Margaret Court, Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal’s twenty four and twenty Grand Slam titles respectively?
