Monday 26th April

It is over four months since members last hit a tennis ball and this date will long be remembered with joy and happiness. The fine weather has ensured that the four courts will be well booked especially from 6pm each day. There are however some restrictions, due to Covid 19, but members can still play and enjoy daily physical action on the courts.

 New Members

New potential members can now join our friendly club and enjoy membership until June 1st 2022 for our annual rate, thirteen months for the price of twelve. Please visit our website for details athlonetennisclub.com.

 Covid 19 Guidelines

Members are reminded of the Covid 19 guidelines, published by Tennis Ireland, that singles play is only allowed for the present. Doubles play is allowed for members only if the partners are from the same family. Members should use the hand sanitiser at the entrance to the courts or preferably bring their own.

 Use of the Clubhouse

The clubhouse should only be opened for two reasons, to turn on the floodlights and to use the toilet facilities, members should bring their own supply of drinking water.

 Club Nights

Club nights are suspended for the present but hopefully these popular nights will return by the end of May introducing a little more competitive action to events.

 Clay Court Season

The clay court season is now in full swing with Stefanos Tsitsipas winning the Monte Carlo Open Sunday 18th while he was narrowly defeated by Rafal Nadal at the Barcelona Open Sunday 25th in an epic and highly entertaining three set encounter.
