Senior Summer Singles Leagues
The senior summer singles leagues concluded last Sunday with 125 matches completed. Eighty men’s and 45 ladies’ matches were played and members can now look forward to completing in our senior club championship competitions which will run during the month of September. Julie Costello and Harry O’ Rourke have the honour of topping the ladies’ and men’s pyramids.

Men’s Summer Doubles League
Dave Costello and John Cooney earned four points each in Monday’s men’s doubles summer league. Jimmy Raleigh and Marek Rose were second placed, both gaining three additional points. Rob Kearney and Pat Conway were awarded two points each. John Galvin and Joe Dalby, Sai Palada and Barry O’ Shea, John Hannon and Benny Maginess earned the minimum each. Draw for partners in next Monday’s competition is at 7.30.
Wednesday’s Ladies Competition
Wednesday evenings are proving to be reasonably successful for ladies social tennis matches. Combinations Anne Dooley and Lola Fernandez Palos, Evgeniya Yurchenko and Noirin Reidy, Jacinta Digby and Mary Jo O’ Farrell participated in the evening’s action. The draw for partners is at 7.30, all lady members welcome to participate in this social event.
Thursday’s Mixed Doubles Competition
Thursday evening’s mixed doubles couples were outclassed by the winning combination of ladies captain Evgeniya Yurchenko and Anne Dooley, well done ladies. Combinations of Rose Costello and Isaac Del Saz Palos, Lola Palos Fernandez and Joe Dalby, Mary O’ Neill and Sean Reidy, Louise and Dave Costello, Noirin Reidy and Marek Rose were the other participants. All players enjoyed the evening’s entertaining action which ended shortly before 9.30.
Covid 19 Recommendations
All members are urged to bring their own hand sanitizer, however the club has installed a hand sanitise dispenser near the club house door.
Sunday’s Mixed Doubles
The fine weather continued for last Sunday’s mixed doubles social competition. Evgeniya Yurchenko and Dave Costello were the more consistent duo winning the greater number of games. Sine Mcfarlane and Isaac Del Saz Palos, Louise Costello and Marek Rose, Rose Costello and Pat Conway, Lola Fernandez Palos and Joe Dalby were the other partnerships. By 12.45 summer raindrops were falling, thus ended another enjoyable Sunday morning. This event is organised every Sunday morning from 11am, needless to emphasise all members are welcome to participate.
