Men’s Doubles Spring League

 John Cooney and Jamie Waldron were the winning partnership last Monday evening in the latest competitive matches of the men’s doubles spring league. John Galvin and Vincent Hall collected three points each as runners up. Marek Rose and Sai Palada added two points each for coming in third place while the Peter Agbanobi/ Nigel Coyle combination earned a point each. All other partnerships earned a single point for participating.

 Rob Kearney is the leading player with twenty one points, John Galvin, Marek Rose and Sai Palada each have accumulated nineteen point each. John Cooney, Vincent Hall and Nigel Coyle are the next best players on sixteen points each.

Ladies’ Doubles Spring League

 The ladies doubles spring league will continued last Wednesday with Sine Mcfarlane and Julie Costello collecting maximum points. Joint runners up were the Michele Culligan/Mary O’ Neill and the Laura Hunt/Madhu combinations. Partnerships Roisin Casey/Oonagh Collins and Ann O’ Sullivan/Carmel Hayes shared the third placed points. Draw for partners is at 7.30 and play continues until 9.30 every Wednesday.

 The leading competitor in the ladies doubles league is Sine Mcfarlane on seventeen points. Michele Culligan and Carmel Hayes are one score behind followed by Laura Hunt on fourteen points.

Mixed Doubles Competitions

  Mary Jo O’ Farrell and Kieran Mc Carthy were the winning couples in last week’s mixed doubles competition. Deborah Mc Keown and P J O’ Reilly were in competitive form also and narrowly missed out on top spot. New potential members are always welcome to take part any Thursday, play commences at 7.30.

Annual Loughrea/Athlone Challenge Match

Our annual challenge match against Loughrea TC is planned to take place in Athlone on Sunday 28th April, details and date are yet to be finalised.
