Men’s Doubles Spring League

 Des Windsor Mc Glynn and Dave Costello were the winning partnership last Monday evening in the latest competitive matches of the men’s doubles spring league. The runners up, just one point behind were the George Bodor/Nigel Coyle duo. Marek Rose and Vincent Hall collected two points each for coming in third place while the John Galvin/Jamie Waldron combination earned a point each. All other partnerships earned a single point for participating.

Ladies’ Doubles Spring League

 The ladies doubles spring league will continue this week, last Wednesday was a wash out. There is a much improved attendance since the move from Tuesday night. All attendees receive a point while the combinations placed first, second, third and fourth receive additional points. Draw for partners is at 7.30 and play continues until 9.30 every Wednesday.

Senior Singles Spring Leagues

  The winner of Group A of the ladies’ singles league is Paula Dowling with Lisa Brennan as runner up. Michele Culligan topped Group B, Anna Walsh was second, in Group C Sine Mcfarlane was tops while Stephane Kenny commanded second spot.

The winner of Group A of the men’s league is Jeremy Clarke, Harry O’ Rourke is the runner up. Tim Clarke, and Rob Kearney are winner and runner up in Group B while John Galvin and Dave Costello gain promotion from Group C. John Cooney won Group D with Pat Conway in second place. Vincent Hall and George Thomas are promoted from group E.

Senior Pyramids

 The pyramids have been updated to take effect of the latest results of the spring leagues. Consequently the top six players in the ladies’ pyramid are Paula Dowling, Lisa Brennan, Laura Hunt, Roisin Casey, Michele Culligan and Anna Walsh.

Jeremy Clarke tops the men’s pyramid followed by Harry O’ Rourke, Des Windsor Mc Glynn, Peter Agbanobi, Tim Clarke and Rob Kearney. All players are reminded that challenges on the pyramids may now be made, competitors may challenge a member up to three places above them.

Mixed Doubles Competitions

  Ellie Yusupova and Jamie Waldron played the better tennis in the misty rain last Thursday. Rose Costello and Marek Rose were a very close second. New potential members are always welcome to take part any Thursday, play commences at 7.30.
