Senior Open 2018
The countdown begins to the summer 'Open' season with the Athlone Senior Open planned for the week of the 8th to 15th of July. There will be the usual range of singles and doubles events across all catagories and after a bumper entry last year the expectation is for more of the same this year. Lisa Brennan will host the competition in her usual inimitable fashion.
We have two summer camps this year, the first starting Monday 16th and continuing to Friday 20th July. The second begins Monday 30th July and ends Friday 4th August. Both summer camps caters for members and non-members of our club. These camps are suitable for children age five to twelve. Further details and to register are available from Clem 0864022490.
The final date for completion of all matches is this Thursday 14th June. Players are asked to make sure all games are contested before then. In the last week there were good wins for Rob Kearney, David Manser and John Galvin and in the Ladies section, Orla Kinahan, Rosemary Thorpe and Carmel Hughes were victorious. As usual the pyramids will be revised after the league on a two up, two down basis. All matches are best of three sets, the third set may be a 'match tie-break'. All results must be entered on the sheets posted in the clubhouse. No walkovers allowed.
