Men’s Summer Doubles Competition
This competition started Monday 24th and will continue for the next couple of months. Last week’s winners were Des Windsor Mc Glynn and Marek Rose, in second place were Rob Kearney and John Galvin, Kieran Mc Carthy and Denis Galvin collected the points for third place while Richard Frank and Manu Singh were fourth. The other ten players collected one point each for attendance.
Mixed Doubles Competitions
Mixed doubles competitions are organised every Thursday at 7.30 and every Sunday at 10am. The winners on Thursday were Rose Costello and Peter Agbanobi while Michele Culligan and Dave Costello were the winners on Sunday.
Ladies’ and Men’s April/May Leagues
Roisin Casey, Des Windsor Mc Glynn, Martin O’ Rourke, Peter Agbanobi, Tim Clarke, Richard Frank, Ghanshyam Godara and John Cooney had league wins during the past week. All matches must be completed by 25th May with presentation of prizes that evening. As usual the Pyramids will be revised after the league on a two up, two down basis. All matches are best of three sets - The third set may be a 'match tie-break'.
All results must be entered on the sheets posted in the clubhouse. No walkovers allowed.

Michael Creighton Memorial Cup
This competition is organised by Mullingar Tennis Club every yearand this year’s event is on Sunday 7th May. Athlone have entered two teams for this competition, team one members are Des Windsor Mc Glynn, Richard Frank, Joe Gill and Dave Costello, team two players are Sean Raftery, Rob Kearney, Jimmy Raleigh and Kieran Mc Carthy.
Junior Tennis
Clem Higginbotham is commencing coaching lessons for junior members this Saturday 6th for children under 8 at 10am and at 11 for children under 12. Older children have lessons from 12 to 1pm. For further details contact Clem at 0864022490.
Coach Derek Stenson has commenced his tennis lessons for junior members for children aged from 4 to 17 years. The coaching is on Mondays, Tuesdays and Fridays commencing at 4pm. For details of these sessions you may contact him at 0851080013 or email rallyvolleysmash@gmail.com.
Club Nights
Club nights continue every Monday, Tuesday and Thursday starting at 7.30 with continuous competitions until 9.30. Men play every Monday with the ladies competing every Tuesday and with mixed doubles events every Thursday.
