Senior Club Championships
The draws for the senior club championships have been made by the tournament’s committee and these annual competitions will be run off over the next three weeks with all ten finals on Sunday 27th. All competitors beaten in their first match will go on to play in the plate competitions. The best of three tiebreak sets will decide the winner in all events.

Midland League Division 3
Athlone 1 have completed their series of matches and have won enough points to be in the quarter finals. They were beaten 1-3 by Birr Wilmer last week and by the weekend should know who their opponents will be.
Athlone 2 have yet to play Tullamore in their last match this Thursday and have already qualified for the play offs. A good result may be enough to be in the semi- final.
Social Tennis
Alan Nugent and Kieran Mc Carthy played consistent steady tennis last Monday and these two new members are a great addition to our club activities.
On Tuesday Mary O’ Neill and Rose Costello were among the ladies who competed for two hours achieving an excellent workout.
Gertie O’ Rourke and Alex Ocsenas played in the mixed doubles last Thursday both bringing their inimitable tennis styles of play to bear on their opponents.
Coaching
Clem Higginbotham continues coaching lessons for junior members every Saturday. The lessons begin at 10 for children under 8, at 11 for under 12 and at 12 o’ clock for older children. His contact number is 0864022490.
