Results Ladies Autumn League
Paula Dowling and Orla Kinahan retained top positions in Group 1 of the ladies autumn league. Melanie Samuels and Michele Culligan were the top two players from Group 2 while Jacinta Digby and Rose Costello were the winners in Group 3.
Results Men’s Autumn League
Tim Clarke and Harry O Rourke were the top performers from Group 1 of the men’s autumn league with Arek Trebeski and George Bodor gaining promotion from Group 2. Richard Frank and Dave Costello are promoted from Group 3. Jimmy Raleigh and Marek Rose were the winners in Group 4 and from Group 5 the promoted players are Michael Rodgers and John Galvin.
Ladies Pyramid
Paula Dowling retains top position on the ladies pyramid followed by Orla Kinahan, Lisa Brennan, Melanie Whyte and Michele Culligan.
Men’s Pyramid
Tim Clarke is back on top followed by Harry O’ Rourke, Pawel Michalski, Des Windsor-McGlynn and Arek Trebelski.
Christmas Party Night
Our annual Christmas night out is on Saturday 17th in Hatters Restaurant at 8.30. Interested members should register with Lisa Brennan as soon as possible.
Christmas Hampers Competition
This mixed doubles competition will be played on Sunday 18th commencing at 2pm. Draw for partners will be made at 2pm sharp and play will then continue to 5pm approximately. No need to register as all members present will be accommodated.
Club Nights
Club nights continue every Monday, Tuesday and Thursday from 7.30 until 9.30. Men compete every Monday, the ladies play on Tuesdays with mixed doubles competitions on Thursdays.
International Tennis Scene
Well done Andy Murray in achieving the number one ranking with double victories over Novak Djokovic. It was also very pleasing to see Argentina lifting the Davis Cup, 3-2, for the first time thanks to double victories by Juan Martin Del Potro over Crotian players Ivo Karlovic and Marin Cilic. Federico Delbonis clinched victory in the final match by overcoming Ivo Karlovic.
