Summer Camps
Our first summer camp is ongoing this week and our second starts Monday 25th July. Both camps are for five days starting at 10 and finishing at 1pm. Members and non-members are welcome to participate in these camps. To register and to obtain further details please contact Clem at 0864022490.
Midland League
The midland league competitions will commence in mid-July and members wishing to be on a team should register on the official form in the clubhouse. Divisions 3, 4 and 5 are due to start the week beginning 25th July. Divisions 1 and 2 will not begin until the end of August.
Annual Mixed Doubles
The preliminary rounds of our annual mixed doubles competition were played last Monday and Tuesday. The two teams who were first and second from Monday were Sine Macfarlane/George Bodor and Melanie Whyte/Marek Rose. The winning duos from Tuesday session were Jacinta Digby/John Cooney and Rose Costello/Des Windsor Mc Glynn.
The four teams played a round robin series of matches on Thursday. Dave Costello was a late call up for John Cooney who earlier picked up an injury.
The finals were extremely competitive with many excellent exhaustive rallies. After two hours the scores revealed that Jacinta Digby and Dave Costello were the winning combination with 15 games. Rose Costello and Des Windsor MC Glynn were in second place on 13 games.

Summer Leagues
The ladies and men’s groups for these leagues will be arranged on Sunday 17th based on members’ positions on the pyramids. All matches have to be played during july and August with presentation of prizes on Thursday 1st September.
Junior Coaching
Clem Higginbotham continues coaching every Saturday for children under 7 at 10am. Children ages 8 to 11 have coaching at 11 and coaching for older children will start at 12. Clem can be contacted at 0864022490.
Derek Stenson coaches every Tuesday and Friday for children from age 6 to 16 starting at 5pm. For details on the above and all related coaching and junior activities you can contact Derek at 0851080013.
Social Tennis
The open competitions had priority last week so there was no social tennis and this week pride of place goes to our annual mixed doubles for the perpetual shield. Social tennis will commence again on Monday 11th July and potential players wishing to have a go at playing the game are most welcome to come along, play commences at 7.30. Men compete every Monday, the ladies play every Tuesday while mixed doubles competitions are held every Thursday.
