Summer Camps
Our first summer camp starts Monday 11th with the second starting Monday 25th July. Both camps are for five days starting at 10 and finishing at 1pm. Members and non-members are welcome to participate in these camps. To register and to obtain further details please contact Clem at 0864022490.
Senior Open
Athlone senior open competitions commenced last Sunday with all the finals down for completion this Sunday. Matthew Conway, Peter Agbanobi, Martin O’ Rourke and Luciano Molinari were some of the first players to taste victory.
Midland League
The midland league competitions will commence in mid-July and members wishing to be on a team should register on the official form in the clubhouse. All teams will consist of two ladies and two men. We expect to have teams in divisions 2, 3 and 4.
Annual Mixed Doubles
Our annual mixed doubles competition will be starting Monday 4th with the final on Thursday 7th July.
Junior Coaching
Clem Higginbotham will commence coaching on Saturday May 7th for children under 7 at 10am. Children ages 8 to 11 have coaching at 11 and coaching for older children will start at 12. Clem can be contacted at 0864022490.
Derek Stenson coaches every Tuesday and Friday for children from age 6 to 16 starting at 5pm. For details on the above and all related coaching and junior activities you can contact Derek at 0851080013.
Social Tennis
John Bray and Dave Costello were winners after Monday night’s friendly series of matches.
Roisin Casey and Sine Mc Farlane played consistent steady tennis during the ladies session last Tuesday.
Rose Costello and Michael Bleahene were too good for the other combinations last Thursday.
Social tennis continues on three nights of every week and potential players wishing to have a go at playing the game are most welcome to come along, play commences at 7.30. Men compete every Monday, the ladies play every Tuesday while mixed doubles competitions are held every Thursday.
