American Tournament

Our first competition of the new-year was an American tournament and was played in very favourable conditions last Sunday. Twelve eager adults participated and as the sets consisted of eight games the ladies changed partners after every four games but the original partnerships started each set. This formula made the contest more exciting and new partnerships had to adapt quickly to the changes. The onus was on each individual to keep a tally on their own scores. After two hours of exceptional tennis Jacinta Digby and Marcus Rose had the highest scores and were worthy winners.

Winter Singles Leagues

Over the festive period Oisin Stronge had two wins and Des Windsor Mc Glynn also overcame Jeremy Clarke in winter league matches. All matches must be completed by mid- February, a settled dry spell will see a lot of matches being played.

Web Site

Our website has been redesigned by Mark Grenham from Avova Technologies Ltd and is now much easier to follow. We greatly appreciate the voluntary work done by Graham. Recently the Gallery section has been greatly added to with hundreds of photographs added for the years 2007-2015. The years back to 2000 will be added but a lot of research has to be completed first.

Social Tennis

Social tennis restarts this week with the men returning to action every Monday and the ladies having exclusive use of the courts every Tuesday. Then every Thursday it’s mixed doubles. Starting time is 7.30 and play continues for two hours each night.
