Summer Camps
We have two summer camps this year, the first started Monday 13th July and the second will be starting Monday 27th July. The camps start at 10am and continue until 1pm for five days. To book a place or more information contact Clem Higginbotham 0864022490.
Athlone Senior Open
Our senior open competitions which were played during last week concluded on Sunday with the nine finals. Once again this was a very sporting and exciting occasion for the home players and competitors from Loughrea, Ballinasloe, Longford, Moate, Mullingar, and Birr Wilmer tennis clubs.
Lisa Brennan and Warren Curtin had a very busy week and great credit and special thanks are duly awarded to them for organising and running our open competitions this year. Many others especially Martin O’ Rourke kept everyone informed with daily updates on our website. Of course numerous other dedicated members were busy organising the catering and doing ancillary duties during the week. A great team effort lead to a successful conclusion.

Midland Leagues
The teams to play in the Midland Tennis Leagues will be ratified this week with play commencing next week in divisions 3, 4 and 5. These leagues are always played in a friendly but competitive spirit.
The midland leagues cater for clubs from Athlone down to Killaloe and from Tullamore to Loughrea. Tim Conway is midland leagues secretary for a number of years, he organises the 6 divisions and he has an excellent knowledge of the competitors involved and has given everyone a fair rating.
Social Tennis
Social tennis continues this week Monday, Tuesday and Thursday starting at 7.30 and continuing for two hours. The men compete every Monday, the ladies have Tuesday and mixed doubles takes place every Thursday.
Coaching
Clem Higginbotham continues coaching lessons for junior members every Saturday. The lessons begin at 10 for children under 8, at 11 for under 12 and at 12 o’ clock for older children. His contact number is 0864022490.
