Junior Club Championships
Lisa Brennan organised and supervised the junior club championships with all finals played last Friday. This competition has been sponsored, for numerous years, by Temple Print. The club greatly appreciates this yearly sponsorship and wishes to express a sincere “thank you” to Ciaran Temple. The results of all the girls and boys competitions from under 10 to 18 will be published next week.
Junior Summer Camp
Clem Higginbotham is organising a junior summer camp from Monday 17th please call Clem to book a place and for further information at 0864022490.
Senior Summer Singles Leagues
There are a number of matches to be played yet but it will be a major upset if Lisa Brennan fails to top Group 1 of the ladies league. Joan Conway or Evgeniya Yurchanko should come out on top in Group 2. Anne Dooley will win Group 3 while Yvonne Walsh and Lola Palos fernandez have already prevailed in Groups 4 and 5 respectively.
Harry O’ Rourke has topped Group 1of the men’s singles summer league winning all his matches. Martin O’ Rourke is favourite to win group 2. Conor Jones or Marek Rose are battling to top Group 3 while Peter Agbanobi will win Group 4. Branislav Kris leads Group 5 while George Jebaraj, Varun Roa or Eamon Maher can be the winner of Group 6. Promotion await the top two players in each group with the winners of the group 1 in each league reaching the top of their respective pyramids. All matches to be completed by Sunday next with no walk overs allowed.

Men’s Summer Doubles League
Kieran mc Carthy and Kieran Mc Nally earned four points each in Monday’s men’s doubles summer league. Des Windsor Mc Glynn and John O’ Connell were second placed both gaining three additional points, John actually is the leading player of this league on thirteen points. Sai Palada and Benny Maginess were awarded two points each while the one point winners were Marek Rose and Joe Dalby, Dave Costello and Samir Quzougagh, John Hannon and John Bray. Draw for partners in next Monday’s competition is at 7.30.
Wednesday’s Ladies Competition
Last Wednesday evening was warm and fine for the competing ladies. Jacinta Digby teamed up with Lola Fernandez Palos, Julie Costello partnered ladies captain Evgeniya Yurchenko while Rose Costello combined with Mary Jo O’ Farrell to enjoy the evening’s action. The draw for partners is at 7.30, all lady members welcome to participate in this social event.
Thursday’s Mixed Doubles Competition
Thursday evening’s mixed doubles duos for our social event were Evgeniya Yurchenko/Isaac Del Saz Palos, Lola Palos Fernandez/Sai Palada, Mary Jo O’ Farrell/Dave Costello, Rose Costello/Marek Rose and Julie Costello/Joe Dalby. All players enjoyed the evening’s entertaining action which ended shortly before 9.30.
Covid 19 Recommendations
All members are urged to bring their own hand sanitizer, however the club has installed a hand sanitise dispenser near the club house door.
Sunday’s Mixed Doubles
The balmy weather returned for last Sunday’s mixed doubles bout. Eight partnerships participated, Sine Mcfarlane and Isaac Del Saz Palos, Rose and Dave Costello, Evgeniya Yurchenko and Pat Conway, Anne Dooley and Lola Fernandez Palos. By 1 pm all players were feeling the effect of the sun and exercise and retired to a healthy lunch. This event is organised every Sunday morning from 11am, needless to emphasise all members are welcome to participate.
