Midland League
Division 4 team m members Laura Hunt, Joan Conway, Dave Costello and John Galvin got their midland league campaign off to a successful start last Tuesday by beating Loughrea 3-1. Laura and Joan lost the ladies doubles 7-9 while John and Dave won their doubles 9-7. In the mixed doubles Laura combined with John to win 9-2 while Joan and Dave also won 9-7. The overall score in games was 34-25. Their next match is away to Portumna.
Men’s Autumn Doubles League
This league will commence this Monday following on from the huge successful summer league which was very well attended by members with lots of enjoyable and exciting tennis matches. Last Monday Ronan Mc Alary and Joey O’ Regan joined in competitions, however recording of results will commence this week. New members are most welcome to come along at 7.30 and participate.
Ladies’ Wednesday Night
Ladies captain, Laura Hunt, will be on hand to organise the ladies competition this Wednesday. Jacinta Digby and Mary Jo O’ Farrell were the winners last week.
Mixed Doubles Thursday Night
The mixed doubles was well supported last week in spite of unseasonable weather. Laura Hunt and Jamie Waldron were in the groove playing forceful accurate tennis.
Junior Coaching
Clem continues coaching sessions every Saturday starting at 10am for children 4 to 8 years old. At 11 he coaches children ages 9 to 12 and from 12 he coaches older children. Please contact Clem at 0864022490 for further details.
