Midland League
Due to unforeseen circumstances ourtwo teams did not play their initial matches in the midland league last week. Division 3 team members are Des Windsor Mc Glynn, Richard Frank, Rob Kearney, George Bodor, Michele Culligan and Melanie Whyte. Division 4 team members are Laura Hunt, Joan Conway, Jacinta Digby, Kathryn Raleigh, Dave Costello, John Galvin and Sai Palada. The former play Birr Wilmer 2 this Wednesday in Athlone while the latter also have a home match against Loughrea this Tuesday evening.
Men’s Monday’s Summer Doubles League
The men’s doubles summer league concluded last Monday with Marek Rose and Sai Palada sharing the spoils on 32 points each. Both players were the more consistent regular attendees every week and are deserving winners. Rob Kearney accumulated 31 points while Harry O’ Rourke was fourth placed with a score of 29. The scores tell their own very successful story, Monday men’s competitions are very inclusive and friendly, with twenty six members participating over the three months. Our autumn league starts this week.

Ladies’ Wednesday Night
Oonagh Collins, Rose Costello and Mary Jo O’ Farrell enjoyed an excellent night on the courts last Wednesday and were the winners at 9.30.
Mixed Doubles Thursday Night
Francophiles Stephane Rodrigues Kenny and Paul Paulides combined to play exceptional tennis last Thursday. Julie and Dave Costello were also a formidable duo winning lots of long exhaustive rallies.
Sunday Morning Mixed Doubles
Members are reminded that our Sunday morning mixed doubles competitions continue every Sunday morning from 11am. Rose Costello and Sai Palada were the winning mixed doubles duo last Sunday.
Junior Coaching
Clem continues coaching sessions every Saturday starting at 10am for children 4 to 8 years old. At 11 he coaches children ages 9 to 12 and from 12 he coaches older children. Please contact Clem at 0864022490 for further details.
