Sunday’s Mixed Doubles
Our second club registration day for adults was followed by an excellent mixed doubles competition with eight couples competing. Two groups of four played a round robin series of matches with the winners, and the other placed duos playing against each other in four finals. Ann O’ Sullivan and Martin O’ Rourke won the A final against Anne Dooley and Sai Palada. In the B final Deborah Mc Keown and Dave Costello settled for a draw against Stephane Kenny and John Cooney. The C final had Rose Costello and John Galvin defeating Oonagh Collins and Vincent Hall while in the D final Evgeniia Yurchenko and Eugene Dooley were the winners against Mary O’ Neill and Marek Rose. Next Sunday members and adults wishing to join a pleasant and very active tennis club can participate in another mixed doubles competition starting at 11am. Members wishing to renew their membership and anyone interested in joining our club can register any Monday, Wednesday or Thursday or from 7.30 to 9.30.
Junior Members’ Games
Children ages 10 to 16 can register from 2pm followed with friendly competitions until 3.30. Then the younger children can register and afterwards enjoy friendly competition until 5pm.
Senior Summer Singles Leagues
The summer singles leagues are progressing with a lot of matches played during the past week. Recent winners were Julie Costello, Mary Jo O’ Farrell, Richard Frank, Des Windsor Mc Glynn, Martin O’ Rourke and Dave Costello and John Bray. All matches are to be played by 13th June.

Ladies’ and Men’s Doubles Competitions
Our ladies’ and men’s doubles competitions will be played this week. The men will be in action Monday and the ladies will compete this Wednesday. The top two qualifying teams from the Monday and Wednesday will compete in the finals this Thursday night on courts 1 and 2 while our usual mixed doubles competition will be on courts 3 and 4.
Men’s Doubles Summer League
Harry O’ Rourke and Nigel Coyle were the top point winners last Monday, second point winners were Luckas Mierzwa and John Bray, while third placed were the Des Windsor Mc Glynn/Sai Palada combination. In the points also were duos Rob Kearney/Vincent Hall, Tristan Murphy Underhill/Dave Costello, George Bodor/Marek Rose, Kieran Mc Carthy/Pat Conway and Michael Rodgers/Hughie Glynn.
Ladies’ Doubles Summer League
Anne Dooley and Mary O’ Neill were the winners in the ladies’ doubles summer league last Wednesday. In second place were Oonagh Collins and Mary Jo O’ Farrell, Ann O’ Sullivan combined with Rose Costello to take third place while Laura Hunt, Evgeniia Yurchenko and Roisin Casey were also point winners.
Mixed Doubles Competition
Sixteen players graced the four courts last Thursday evening in ideal tennis playing conditions. The eight partnerships were divided into two groups with the winners, second, third and fourth placed combinations from each group playing in final matches. Anne Dooley and Jamie Waldron were the winners of group 1 while Julie Costello and Eugene Dooley triumphed in group 2. Evgeniia Yurchenko and Lukasz Mierzwa won group three. Ellie Yusopova and Richard Frank were the final winning duo.
Summer Camps
Our summer camps will be July 15th to July 19th from 10am to 1pm and our second will be from July 29th to 3rd August, contact Clem for details, 0864022490.
Coaching
Clem continues coaching sessions every Saturday starting at 10am for children 4 to 8 years old. At 11 he coaches children ages 9 to 12 and from 12 he coaches older children. Please contact Clem at 0864022490 for further details.
