Christmas Hampers Competitions
Our junior Christmas hampers competition was postponed last Saturday due to inclement weather conditions but will be played this Saturday 15th from 2 to 4pm. The senior event last Sunday was in complete contrast, the senior players enjoyed glorious sunshine in their competition, consequently a large number of members participated.
In order to have a smooth effective competition it was decided to run off two round robin events. The eventual winners of the A and B events were duos Joan Conway/Richard Frank and Michele Culligan/Jacinta Digby. The runners up were the Rose Costello/Des Windsor Mc Glynn and Oonagh Collins/Dave Costello pairings.
Men’s Winter Doubles League
Des Windsor Mc Glynn and Marek Rose emerged as the winners of the men’s winter doubles league which commenced last Monday. John Galvin and Vincent Hall were runners up. Joint third were the Dave Costello/Nigel Coyle and Kieran Mc Carthy/Pat Conway partnerships. Michael Blehene and Christian Fisher fourth placed and collected a point each.
This competition will run well into the new-year and members are welcome to join in the friendly competitive matches. All present earn a point for attendance while the winners are awarded four points for their efforts. Three, two and one point are awarded to second, third and fourth place couples respectively.
Christmas Party

Requiescat In Pace
Members were very saddened to hear of the sudden and unexpected death of Luke Walsh during the past week. Luke was a dedicated chairperson and later secretary of our club in the eighties and nineties. We extend our deepest sympathies to members of his family on this sad occasion.
