Senior Open 2018

The countdown begins to the summer 'Open' season with the Athlone Senior Open planned for the week of the 8th to 15th of July. There will be the usual range of singles and doubles events across all catagories and after a bumper entry last year the expectation is for more of the same this year. Lisa Brennan will host the competition in her usual inimitable fashion.

Summer Camps

We have two summer camps this year, the first starting Monday 16th and continuing to Friday 20th July. The second begins Monday 30th July and ends Friday 4th August. Both summer camps caters for members and non-members of our club. These camps are suitable for children age five to twelve. Further details and to register are available from Clem 0864022490.

French Open

Rafa Nadal, as predicted by most, was crowned Men's champion yet again, cementing his place as one of the greatest ever clay court players. Let's see how he performs at Wimbledon in a few weeks time when Roger Federer and Andy Murray are back to give him some decent opposition. Simone Halap of Romania made her Grand Slam breakthrough at last after several losing finals with a comeback victory in the Ladies final against Sloan Stephens.
