Autumn Leagues
The groups for the autumn leagues have been formed based on pyramid standings and players are encouraged to arrange matches while the weather outlook remains good:
Men:
Group A: Sean Raftery, Harry O'Rourke, Des Windsor-McGlynn, Peter Agbonobi, Jeremy Clarke, Pawel Michalski.
Group B: Martin O'Rourke, George Bodor, Rob Kearney, John Galvin, Dave Costello, Marek Rose.
Group C: Richard Frank, Kieron McCarthy, David Manser, John Bray, Eduardo Ballesteros Ribera, Warren Curtin.
Group D: Pat Conway, Michael Flynn, John Cooney, Tanmay Pande.
Group E: Manu Singh, Atin Kohli, Oisin Stronge, Matthew Conway, David Walsh.
Ladies:
Group A: Paula Dowling, Lisa Brennan, Melanie Whyte, Jacinta Digby, Rose Costello.
Group B: Ann O'Sullivan, Michelle Culligan, Anna Walsh, Roisin Casey, Laura Hunt.
Group C: Mary Jo O'Farrell, Sine McFarlane, Sarah Seoige, Laura O'Cluaid, Aileen Cunnie, Brigid Flynn.
Club Nights
On Monday night, our latest mens' doubles league came to a conclusion. On the night, joint winners were Harry O'Rourke and Manu Singh along with Martin O'Rourke and Pat Conway, both on 18 points. Marek Rose and Jimmy Raleigh came third. This meant that the overall outcome of the league was: First place - Harry O'Rourke, Second - Marek Rose and joint Third - Dave Costello and Martin O'Rourke. The doubles leagues have been extremely well supported all year with 31 entries this time. Our next doubles league begins on the 16th October.
Thursday night mixed doubles produced an exciting competition this week with Atin and Roisin coming out on top with Marek and Deirdre second and Des, John and Marieta performing solidly too.
Ryder Cup
The final of Mullingar's ryder cup competition took place on Friday and despite a good performance from the Athlone team, the hosts were victorious and retained the cup.
Junior Coaching
Clem Higginbotham continues coaching every Saturday for children under 7 at 10am. Children ages 8 to 11 have coaching at 11 and coaching for older children will start at 12. Clem can be contacted at 0864022490.

Social Tennis
Men compete every Monday, the ladies play every Tuesday while mixed doubles competitions are held every Thursday. These nights are opportunities for new potential members to come along and play a few games.
