Junior and Senior Autumn League

The Senior Autumn League has now reached the semi-finals and they have to be played by Sunday 16th.

Team E won most games with 164wins, team D was in second place with 159 wins, team F got 144 and team C had 126 wins. Consequently E plays C and D plays F in the semi-finals. The junior-semi-final line up was decided on Monday evening with the semi-finals to be played next Monday. All the fixtures have to be completed by the times scheduled with the finals to be played on November 21st. Presentation of prizes will take place at the AGM on that night.

The Tournaments Committee are organising Christmas hampers competitions for junior and senior players. It will be a team competition run on a knock out basis. If interested in playing please sign up in the clubhouse soon.

Midland League

Division 3 competitors of Anne Dooley, Julie Furey, Geoff Yorke and Dave Costello have won all their matches so far. They are playing to Nenagh this Wednesday.

 Division 4 players Jacinta Digby, Mary Jo O’ Farrell, Martin O’ Rourke and Philip Dunne are also unbeaten and they host Roscrea on Tuesday.Division 5 ladies Michelle Culligan, Anne Daly, Kathern Raleigh and Carolyn Tunney have won two matches but were defeated by Birr last week. Theh play Nenagh this Thursday.

Junior Club Championships

Our Junior Championships sponsored by Temple Print will commence on Monday 18th with finals on Friday 22nd. Enrolement sheets are now up in the clubhouse, children can register with Martin 0872451486 or Lisa 0876110293. There will be competitions for 10’s 12’s 14’s 16’s and 18’s, girls and boys. There will also be doubles competitions.

Midland League

 Division 3 of the Midland League started last Wednesday with Athlone playing Puckane. Athlone won 3-1 thanks to victories by men’s doubles players Geoff Yorke and Dave Costello, mixed pairings of Julie Furey and Geoff Yorke and Anne Dooley and Dave Costello. The next match is against Birr Wilmer this Wednesday. 

Division 5 ladies had an easy win against the ladies from Loughrea. Carolyn Tunney and Ann Daly won both their matches while Alice Johnson and Michelle Culligan were too good and also had a double victory, final result 4-0. They have a home match against Roscrea this Thursday.
