The final of the Junior Spring League took place last Wednesday evening followed by an Easter Egg-Fest as all players went home with a good chocolate fix! The tennis provided great entertainment with team NADAL, Harry O’Rourke, David Jacob, Alejandro Prunier, Donal Byrne, Patrick Flynn, Aoife Flynn and team FEDERER, Inigo Goizueta, Alan Egan, Chris Hurley, Anna Mc Cullagh, Matthew Conway, Kathleen Flynn contesting the winner’s prize. 

The 3rd place up for grabs was between teams MURRAY, Fergus Groenendijk, Sean Raftery, Conor Byrne, Sophie Jacob, Ronan Mc Alary, Renee Menard and DJOKOVIC, Conor Rice, Rian McNamara, Jaime Fernandez, Gertie O’Rourke, Conor Mc Alary, Naimh O’Dowd.

Both contests were closely fought affairs but wins for Inigo, Chris, Anna and Matthew enabled team FEDERER to take the spoils by 4 matches to 2 despite good wins for David and Aoife Flynn for the runners-up.

Third place went to team DJOKOVIC also on a 4-2 score line with victories for Conor Rice (prevailing against Fergus 7-6 in the match of the night), Gertie, Conor McAlary and Naimh, with Sean and Alan winning for MURRAY.

Afterwards, club chairman Dave Costello presented the prizes and complimented the players on the high standard of tennis on display. He complimented Martin O’ Rourke on the professional way he organized and ran this competition.
